Vinegar is a potent antibacterial, non-toxic cleaner, which also helps with bad smells. Here are a few cleaning hacks based on vinegar that will help you simplify and reduce the time allocated to daily cleaning routine.
Vinegar can be used on its own for cleaning purposes or it can be mixed with other non-toxic ingredients. For example you can mix it with baking soda, lemon juice, salt or alcohol (vodka for example or rubbing alcohol).
You can use it to wipe digital devices, to remove candle wax or ink stains, to unclog drains, to remove mildew and mold, to remove grease from stoves or counter tops or to polish bronze, brass and copper.
Its cleaning ways of usage are endless: you can clean he shower curtain or the washing machine, window blinds, carpet or furniture stains, stainless steel, piano keys, the fridge, toilet, tub or sink, pots and pans.
And this is not all, if you can imagine. This is how amazing vinegar is! Use it also to: deodorize mattresses, freshen or sanitize clothes, including yellow sweat stains, to remove coffee or tea stains from dishes or remove stickers.
Here’s one recipe for all-purpose cleaner with vinegar:
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of lavender or orange or lemon essential oil
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
If you need to clean a delicate surface try with a 50/50 water and vinegar solution.
Baking soda is only recommended to be mixed with vinegar if the surface that needs to be cleaned can be cleaned with acidic solutions.
You can use vinegar to clean the inside of your washing machine. Here’s how: take a 1 liter of distilled white vinegar bottle and pour it in the washing machine. Start the cycle as you would normally do, but without any clothes in. To remove the smell, if there is any, you can afterward repeat the cycle with baking soda.
